The EPiC research group will have its first meeting on Wednesday at 1:30 pm. EPiC stands for “Education, Philosophy, and Conversation." The idea is that the group should (mode 1) discuss issues in philosophy of education, especially pertaining to the significance of conversation as the primary medium of teaching and learning, but that the group should (mode 2) sometimes simply engage in conversation on philosophical issues, particularly those relevant to the work in progress of the participants.
So on Wednesday, we will be in mode 2, and Lesley Jamieson will present some work of hers relevant to her thesis on moral philosophy (which concerns issues of moral perception and the nature of virtue).
If you can’t make it, no problem, each meeting will be self-standing.
